Flights of Predator B drone aircraft were scheduled to begin Sept 1 along the US/Mexico border between El Paso and Brownsville, TX. Drones are already being used over West TX/New Mexico border and over AZ/Mexico border. Despite "accident rates of up to hundreds of times higher than manned aircraft" Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano "sees value in their role."

Senator John Cornyn reversed his opposition to Michael Huerta's Senate confirmation as deputy FAA administrator under Randy Babbitt after gaining approval for the Predator use in Texas.

It's Time To FIRE Pusher-Man Randy Babbitt, FAA's "Captain Prozac®".
FAA Falls Short On Safety, Federal Watchdog Says.

Randy Babbitt, FAA’s Captain Prozac®!
Superfly FAA Administrator J. Randolph (“Randy”) Babbitt has now authorized drugged-up pilots with mental problems to fly jumbo-jets in the national airspace, including possibly over your house and head. You might even be reading this blog on a PDA, about to take off as a passenger on an airplane, piloted by one of the new members of FAA's Prozac Nation. But don’t worry. It’s only SOMETIMES that Prozac increases the user’s risk of suicidal thinking – or suicidal behavior – or panic attacks – or drowsiness - or hallucinations – or uncontrollable shaking - or seizures - or fainting - or a coma.

If you are able to stomach the horror of these atrocities, watch the History International series called the Horror of Unit 731, a five part YouTube video series: Part 1 at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu7GMMIfvoo&feature=related

I still cannot believe the cover-up of horror we provided to the Japanese.

An interesting paper on these atrocities was read by Sheldon Harris at the International Citizens Forum on War Crimes & Redress in Tokyo, Japan on December 11, 1999. It can be found at:
http://www.vcn.bc.ca/alpha/speech/Harris.htm

I wonder how it was received?

Please feel free to comment. Seems to be a hot topic in the news the last several days with articles appearing all over the Internet.

What do you think? Should the U.S. apologize to Japan?

New bill passed by House and Senate lets the FAA off the hook again:

"Requires the Administrator to issue regulations on flight time and rest requirements based on the latest scientific evidence to address pilot fatigue. The provision also requires the National Academy of Sciences to study the effect of commuting on pilot fatigue, and requires the Administrator to update regulations based on the study’s findings if appropriate."

The "if appropriate" really puts the "bite" into this legislation, doesn't it?

According to the yachting CEO Tony Hayward, the gushing well still holds 50 million barrels of oil, or 2.1 billion gallons! At current flow rate it could continue for 2 to 4 years, because 94-97% of the well's contents are still down there.

With the increased attention being paid to the sleep deprivation issue, the people responsible for making changes are still ignoring the problems. The airline industry, the healthcare industry, the trucking industry, and the military are promoting the dispensing of drugs to cover the problem, rather than focusing on schedule changes to improve the opportunities for performance enhancing sleep. Lives are jeopardized every day the problem is ignored.
