Sleepless and Tired Celebrates 2012 Numbers

fireworks2012 was another great year! We just passed our third birthday in December and Sleepless and Tired is posting this celebration to thank you for our impressive 2012 numbers. WordPress.com and Jetpack have just published our 2012 annual report and you can click on the link below to check out the fireworks and the statistics.

Summarizing the statistics, sleeplessandtired.com recorded more than 85,481 visits this year. That was a 35% increase over last year’s 63,240 visits! As WordPress relates the number:

“19,000 people fit into Barclay’s Center to see Jay-Z perform. If it (sleeplessandtired.com) were a concert . . . it would take 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.”

We averaged 234 unique visits per day compared to 2011′s 223 visits per day. 108 new posts were presented for the year. More than 584,000 pages were viewed this year in more than 3 million hits!  

Our busiest day this year was July 26th when 1,755 visitors read our extremely popular post,

Montauk Monsters Swim Ashore: Manhattan Residents Frozen in Fear.”

Sleeplessandtired.com’s most-viewed articles in 2012 included many “monsters” from earlier years. Some of our “oldies” continue to attract new readers.

Our viewers came from 178 different countries. Our highest numbers originated from the U.S., but the United Kingdom and Canada were not far behind. The Netherlands, Germany, France, India, Italy, Brazil, China, Australia and the Philippines added fireworks to our celebration!
